If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Signal Leak Shows Trump Only Takes Federal Secrets Seriously When It Suits Him
In the Trump era, the definition of an official secret depends on whatever works best for the president.
Details about a flight of immigrants that landed many days ago? Too secret to reveal.
Details about an imminent military strike? Not classified, not a breach of national security and not a big deal.
Secrets under Trump depend on who asks and who tells.

The arrogance, hubris, and stupidity of thinking that The Atlantic wouldnโt just publish the full thread if they tried to deny what was in itโฆ
And the responsibility the Senate bears for confirming these yutzes to such important national security positions in the first placeโฆ

I really hope Democratic lawmakers took notice of the actions of Sen. Schatz, Sen. Kim, and others today and observed how quickly they were celebrated by millions of voters.
This is not about getting the response 100% right or knowing exactly what the plan should be.
It's about making an effort.

they are stealing data from the american people and depriving us of the transparency that we are entitled to by law. none of this is legal and not a single federal employee has any reason to comply.

Trump is openly violating the law on a vast and unprecedented scale and everyone is acting like it's normal. NPR had a long story about finding a rare shrew. NYT said he was disregarding "legal niceties." This is an attack on the Constitution as profound as the attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

Slower, more thoughtful cataloging and limited interaction might be a good thing.

OK, Iโm doing it. Iโm going back in time to when I used to upload photos to Flickr from my computer rather than my phone. I uploaded a bunch (a mix of public and restricted to friends & family) last night, and it was strangely soothing tagging all of them.

I miss the Flickr days. So much history archived there due to great metadata. The transition to mobile was awkward, tho, and so much context was lost. Feed is unsatisfying. Might try saving stuff there again tho and see how it goes.
