Yes, but not every android is run by Google. There are alternative operating systems (graphene, calyxo, lineage, etc), and alternative app stores (f-droid, aurora). Like I said in my initial response, Google is evil, and android isn't perfect.

Not to be -that- guy, but I love being an android user (though android is not perfect and Google is its own version of evil).

Just letting y’all know, if you have a fever right now or a sore throat or sniffles. You better assume it’s Covid, mask everywhere, and TEST (if you have access to reliable testing, which is 2-3 rapid tests in 48hr intervals or a PCR). For rapids, do an oral THEN nasal swab.
