If there is one thing I can be proud of, itโ€™s my work in starting this global initiative - and for the sixth year running, letโ€™s piss off a lot of people in and out of STEM just by being our unapologetic selves. #queerinstem

Astronomy and Astrophysics Outlist Outlist and ally list for LGBTQIA+ members in the astronomy and astrophysics community

(Just realized that I haven't advertized the Astronomy and Astrophysics Outlist on this platform.)

If you are an LGBTQ+ ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ astronomers/astrophysicists (or an ally) and are comfortable of being out, you can join the Astro Outlist to help increase LGBTQ+ visibility and connect with local community!

I've been using datacamp to improve some of my data science skills, and I'm super proud of myself for my 14-day streak!

My original intention for blue sky was to keep it 100% astronomy, but I'm not really sure what my (long term) future in astronomy looks like so I don't think I'm going to be that strict.

Also I keep forgetting blue sky exists so hello :)

Watch a Hubble Space Telescope video of a shock wave moving through gas of an exploded star Bonus: You can see stars actually moving through space in this animation!

Hubble video of a shock wave slamming through gas blasting out from a supernova. Bonus: You can actually see stars *physically move* due to their orbital motion around the center of the galaxy!
