Yeah, it’s definitely not old enough to be exhibiting that type of behavior. The HP architecture is probably not a fan of Linux. Try an MBPro but go newer than the M1s if you can. The battery life on the newer MBPros is fantastic.

Or it’s just time for new hardware. How long have you had that HP?

Maybe it’s the version of Linux you’re running? If you check the processes that are running, you should be able to see what apps are hogging your CPU. Maybe some sort of root kit got on there or a crypto miner?

Maybe just replace the battery? That’s usually the cheapest and easiest thing to replace on a laptop.

Occasionally, I draw when I’m waiting for them to fall asleep. I started drawing these four random teens when my oldest looked at the pic and said, “They look like Mystery Incorporated. You should draw Scooby too.”

My kids are 8 and 10 years old and they still want me to hang out in their bedroom until they go to sleep. I know I should probably start to pull back and let them go to sleep by themselves, but in a few years they’re not going to want me around, so I’m going to try to hang around them as much…
