Wellington PT. Train to Featherston replaced by two buses. Then a connecting bus Feathie to Martinborough. Pretty awesome but it will be good to get the trains back. 6 week shutdown for track upgrades. Lovely countryside too.

The end of the hikoi at Taranaki Street was at 1130 am. 9 am-1130 am.

Reading the Times “Court Circular” and the reference to the a royal visit to the Worshipful Society of Haberdashers in 2024 caught me short. Who knows what a haberdasher even is these days. Yes I do. But I am a woman of a certain age.

20 years ago there was a massive debate about a huge new powerline carving its way through scenic areas of the Waikato. To a Transpower director I said the reason people don’t want a pylon anywhere near was that they look so ugly. I suggested we commission world famous artists to design pylons.

I am triggered by chainsaws; my own PTSD caused by neighbours in urban Auckland who did not live at the house or NZ chainsawing down 10 100 year old native trees that hosted amazing native bird population incl Keruru. The council had removed all general tree protection as a result of govt policies.

Was at a masterclass of about 20 people on native plant regeneration yesterday. Seemed mostly all pakeha ( but who can tell these days). Two presenters ( pakeha) introduced themselves and greeted everyone in Te Reo Māori including a karakia. #radical #NAH
