It’s World Press Freedom Day. A lot of journalists quite literally put their lives on the line to bring truth from the depths of repressive regimes. Here are a few to remember, who have been kidnapped, forcibly disappeared or held hostage.

Tbh that’s a far cry from what’s happening here in the states and still makes me feel good that outright bigotry is not at the forefront/focus of politics.

Even w/o the nuance, having a sane govt that tolerates people like myself and leaves us alone is a massive upgrade

Thanks, Mark. Even a general lowdown would be a good start as I know that the more left-leaning a gov't is the more accepting they are of LGBT people and protecting their rights (or so the logic goes anyway)

Ok so someone please explain this to me like I'm a 5yo. As a trans person looking into moving there, this election could have a direct impact on me and I'd like to know that I would be moving to a sane and safe place far far away from the fascist craziness of the USA...
