Hi Council Members, My name is Davis Moturi. In October 2024, I was shot in the neck by my neighbor John Sawchak after dozens of attempts to get help from MPD the year prior. I'm writing to you today to ask that the City of Minneapolis make public, the results of MPD's review of the Department's handling of my case and any changes they have made to their procedures based on the results of their review. In an MPR article by Cari Spencer in April a spokesperson from MPD revealed that "MPD has conducted a thorough review of the violent incident." They also shared that the Department is "committed to implementing necessary changes, procedures and partnerships to address any identified gaps when these reviews are concluded." the government should not be able to smash into your home and drag you into the street for no reason. it's kind of a core civil right, perhaps THE core civil right.

Right now that just means nobody is getting the rarer articles only the NLM has. But if anything goes wrong with the document lending site / system, there will be no one to fix it and there won’t be lending at all. That means literal interruption to patient care in some cases.

Government infrastructure and govt workers make our lives better every day, and you don’t notice because the whole point is for systems to work as they should. -a strategy / system to ensure there is a balance between new and old leadership, and succession planning

The DFL should have ACTUAL RULES on basic ethics like:
-recusing when you’re in a complaint
-a deadline to resolve code conduct complaints
-transparency for who decides code of conduct complaints
-a limit to how many positions of power a single person gets

You might thing I’m taking about Republicans, but they’re busy cashing out while it goes to shit. It’s our fucking State DFL who insists on using republican tactics to game a system - so fucking eager to keep each of their five committee seats that they’re wiling to kill the party to do it
