I am no constitutional scholar, but I can't help but feel that "the President gets to dictate what every university can teach and what every television station should broadcast" is closer to what the founding fathers were worried about when it comes to free speech than trigger warnings on syllabi.

This was such a perfect palate cleanser after reading the wonderful-but-extremely-challenging Rakesfall. I don't need Fancy Systems to love a fantasy book, it just needs to make me care. ❤️

I am waiting SO PATIENTLY for this book to come out. I'm deliberately leaning the Knights square on my r/fantasy Bingo card blank until October because I'm so psyched about it! 😭

Went to a community screening of @thelibrariansfilm.bsky.social at Junction Arts and Media last night, followed by a group discussion with two local librarians. It was heavy, but important, even though we haven't seen it much in Vermont yet. (NH is another story, though ...) See it if you can!

Yes, actually, I *do* need some Perimeter Time.

The area I control is a concrete patio. I have a few herbs in pots, but I never seem to read about how native plants do in pots and containers and whatnot? Especially ones that can survive Vermont winters that way.

My lovely Disaster Dingo appears to be just as bad at math (and catch) as I am. She can't even catch a treat dropped directly into her mouth, but she has many wonderful talents and I love her.

Today at the bookstore I sat across the table from a student and she gave me a flower from her hair and in turn I gave her my mermaid rock (given to me by a self-described mermaid in the river on a hot day last summer) and I just love that imagination and joy still exist in the smallest of ways.

Six weeks since surgery, and it's finally sinking in how APPALLINGLY BORING physical therapy is.

I got a 1410 and never even took Trig. I was in the "you're definitely not going to college so who cares" math track in high school after failing geometry twice.

(To be fair I had a perfect Verbal score, but still.)
