06.09.2025 16:04 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Queen Anne's lace is by far the most boopable plant. I will not be taking any questions at this time.
27.07.2025 23:37 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am no constitutional scholar, but I can't help but feel that "the President gets to dictate what every university can teach and what every television station should broadcast" is closer to what the founding fathers were worried about when it comes to free speech than trigger warnings on syllabi.
23.07.2025 16:27 β π 12137 π 2846 π¬ 71 π 43This was such a perfect palate cleanser after reading the wonderful-but-extremely-challenging Rakesfall. I don't need Fancy Systems to love a fantasy book, it just needs to make me care. β€οΈ
11.07.2025 19:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am waiting SO PATIENTLY for this book to come out. I'm deliberately leaning the Knights square on my r/fantasy Bingo card blank until October because I'm so psyched about it! π
07.07.2025 19:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Went to a community screening of @thelibrariansfilm.bsky.social at Junction Arts and Media last night, followed by a group discussion with two local librarians. It was heavy, but important, even though we haven't seen it much in Vermont yet. (NH is another story, though ...) See it if you can!

Our public lands are so beautiful, I hope they stay that way for future generations too.
22.06.2025 16:10 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sen. Tammy Duckworth just said on Colbert, "We should all live long enough to develop a disability," & the audience laughed uncomfortably.
I can tell you what they were thinking. It was "Not me. That would never happen to me."
& the underlying, unacknowlged premise was "b/c I'm better than that."
I seem to recall bits of House of Leaves like this? Or I could be hallucinating that, wouldn't surprise me, the entire book was like a fever dream from two decades ago.

My lovely Disaster Dingo appears to be just as bad at math (and catch) as I am. She can't even catch a treat dropped directly into her mouth, but she has many wonderful talents and I love her.

20.04.2025 15:45 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today at the bookstore I sat across the table from a student and she gave me a flower from her hair and in turn I gave her my mermaid rock (given to me by a self-described mermaid in the river on a hot day last summer) and I just love that imagination and joy still exist in the smallest of ways.

I just ... pick up my leg and put it back down again. Again. And again. And again. In marginally different ways.
