No matter where you go in this beautiful country, people tend to want the same basic things out of an American life:

Security. Opportunity. Freedom. I hear it everywhere I go.

And every time I do, I find myself feeling proud of Minnesota.

Three things we can do this week (4-21-25) The life of Pope Francis reminds us of our obligation to one another, especially the most vulnerable, the poor, the sick, the marginalized and the immigrant.

At a time when those who would replace kindness with cruelty, civilization with barbarism, are on the rise... At a time when those who could stop them have, until recently, seemed stunned and scattered... I find cause for hope in the example set by Pope Francis.

Yeah, you read that right: Senate Republicans voted to increase banking fees on millions of Americans.
 
We should be lowering costs and getting rid of junk fees for Americans, not raising them.

The aurora borealis are giving us a little show in the northern skies tonight. It's cold, windy but beautiful. The long winter nights give us ample opportunities for northern lights displays.
