Vandalism isn't patriotism; daubing red crosses on Chinese takeaways and writing racist graffiti isn't patriotism; perfomatively sitting in front of a flag or tying one to a mosque isn't patriotism;

Patriotism is about making this country safe, happy productive for all.

Again, there was absolutely no need to take an evil decision, and yet this UK Government took an evil decision. It's just an evil government, I'm sorry, it's an evil government that has declared war on the LGBT community - my community - and I've never despised a government more than I do this one.

well on the one hand it's bad for democracy and social cohesion that Keir Starmer is trying to appeal to the racists by pretending to be one of them, but on the other hand it's not actually working and the racists still don't want to vote for him

Got a bunch of new followers after the “trans in the uk” thread I did went viral.

So I’m going to add this. The same Ik government which introduced same sex marriage also introduced a rule where trans people need their spouse’s written permission to change their legal sex.

I want to explain a few things and then it might be clearer why UK trans people are upset.

I'm assuming that households with foreign nationals will be able to stop paying National Insurance then? This is the most vile, and also most illogical, anti-immigration policy I've seen in a good while, and that's saying something in this climate.

There will be other factors in the story too. Maybe other reasons for stealing? Maybe not. I don’t know. So I’m not judging.

I don’t think the Observer reporting on the Salt Path will change my enjoyment of the story. I assumed it wasn’t quite all the way it was told. And it got me reading again for the first time in ages. I do wonder a bit why the observer spent time and resources on investigating them.
