I was talking to a more-senior gay about this a few months ago

He got pissed and said “Are they not paying attention? The whole idea of queerness is that YOU are free to be WHAT YOU WANT TO BE. Like… it’s literally antithetical for people in these groups to tell you otherwise.”

Yup. That’s basically what happened

It was also hard for me to deal with because like… well I was just coming out but these are more-senior queer people. I kept asking myself “Are they right?” “Am I actually a woman?”

After several months, I concluded ‘No’ … but yeah, their insistence really hurt

Idk. I dealt with a lot of trans women calling me ‘an egg’ and telling me that I was actually a trans woman. It was REALLY invalidating and hard to deal with. For a while, I stopped showing up to local queer events

The problem should NOT be used as an anti-trans argument - but it is still a problem

My understanding - is that Amazon partners with creepy #Flock surveillance firm so that they can use the Neighbors app to REQUEST recordings. Then you still need to APPROVE those requests

Am I wrong/misunderstanding something?
