@agramuglia.bsky.social I've seen a bit of the Shadow of the Conqueror comic book in a Kirkpattiecake video. It toned down how bad a guy Daylen was by a fair bit, Lyrah was his ex-girlfriend instead of his rape victim for example.

He kind of is, his "sentence" at the end is to be made into an Archknight so he can pay off his debt to society with heroic deeds. Kind of like how in the real world we sentence violent criminals to be police officers and give them a gun and badge and set them loose on the streets.

I love that the strawman villain of his book actually makes a fairly well reasoned argument for why his socialist policies actually had a positive impact on the common people and his counterargument was to get mad and punch her head off her body.

Bonus points for the book making sure to inform us that she was super horny for him too.

I love how Daylen is constantly whining to himself about how no one ever credits him with all the good stuff he did, and then when the bad guys actually do appreciate him, he's like "I didn't mean the socialism!"
