it can't be emphasized enough that The Satanic Temple's reaction to widespread misinformation crediting TST with work they weren't actually doing was
a) lean into the rumor
b) try to siphon money to TST while
c) taking credit for *other* people donating to food banks in TST's name

which is typical

Turns out their approach to "protecting Jews" is a lot like their approach to "protecting women".

The opening text of Master and Commander, but its the style of a Zohran for Mayor poster. "April, 1805. Napoleon is master of Europe. Only the British fleet stands before him. Oceans are now battlefields."

There’s no daylight between what Candace says here about β€œthe Jews” & what Nazi propagandists & Father Coughlin said about the Jews in the 1930s. Her show is one of the top 5 β€œconservative” podcasts in the US. She has 5.5 million subscribers on YouTube and 7.3 million followers on X.

Across Eastern Europe, they have what are known as "lustration" laws that do exactly this for people who were in the Stasi and its various equivalents. It's a model we should be examining.

Prioritizing normalcy over accountability and justice is what got us here in the first place. You sound like Merrick Garland.

already count a vote from you, then they open the mailing envelope and add your ballot to the box to be counted. The ppl who take your ballot out of the small envelope to count are different from the ppl who took that one out of the mailing envelope, so no one can connect your ballot to your name.

The actual ballot you mark your vote on has no identifying info. You put it inside a small envelope that also has no name on it, and then you put *that* inside a mailing envelope that has your name and a place for your signature. After they verify your signature and check that they didn't

And now you all understand why Schumer made that offer publicly. They all knew this was going to be the GOP response. It's making them own the shutdown even more, just as air travel cuts are being made.

Workshopping a take that says social democracy is the pro-market ideology now because oligarchs have accumulated sufficient wealth to prevent losses from being a meaningful disciplinary tool.

please read Ariella's thread and then call these Senators, respectfully, if they represent you. I called my Senators, but they aren't on this list; I really, really do not want our side to cave, but we need to approach this tactfully and respectfully.

Help us out. Make some calls.

Tweet from David Miller: "At least his fellow Zionist Sadiq Khan waited to step into office on his first day as Mayor of London before dancing on the graves of Palestinians by having a photoshoot with Britain's 'Chief Rabbi' and the Netanyahu adviser Mark Regev.

Mamdani is showing who he works for even before he gets in the door. An awful Zionist charlatan."

I do not think all anti-Zionists are antisemitic, but anti-Zionists who label Zohran Mamdani a "Zionist" simply because he condemned swastikas drawn on a Jewish day school in Brooklyn are in fact antisemites.

please call your senator if you live in Washington to thank them for holding steady on the budget. I just saw that the White House has singled Senators Murray and Cantwell out as β€œdemented freaks” in a GamerGate-style attempt to drive harassment towards them.

While Madison Square Garden had prepared itself for the presence of the German Bund, many around New York City considered them less welcome in their city. About 100,000 anti-Nazi protesters gathered around the arena in protest of the Bund, carrying signs stating "Smash Anti-Semitism" and "Drive the Nazis Out of New York".[2] A total of three attempts were made to break the arm-linking lines of police, the first of these, a group of World War I veterans, wrapped in red, white and blue of the Stars and Stripes, were held off by police on mounted horseback, the next, a "burly man carrying an American flag" and finally, a Trotskyist group known as the Socialist Workers Party, who like those before, had their efforts halted by city police.[6] Chief Inspector Costuma's police force acting security was exposed to an odd form of protest as well, characterized by The New York Times as:

At 8 p.m., a loudspeaker in a second-floor window of a rooming house at Forty-ninth Street and Eighth Avenue began blaring a denunciation of Nazis and urging, "Be American, Stay at home". The voice came from a record which was timed to start playing automatically.[6]

Nazis were already very unpopular in the US before Pearl Harbor; what the attack changed was the public's opinion about whether to get directly involved in the war as opposed to only supporting the Allies with materiel.

The difference between Mamdani (a real life socialist who actually wants to win power and use it to do things!) and the do nothing losers on here who call themselves leftists and socialists is why I'm always careful to draw a distinction between the left and the very online left.

"most dem victories where centrists"

i say later in the 🧡, i'm not claiming this as a victory for either normie dems or socialists

it's a victory for opposing fascism & not trying to appease it (which comes in both lib & left variants)

Like yeah, I know, it's uncool and cringe to be idealistic and believe in a mission and swear an oath. You're supposed to believe that everyone in government is corrupt and broken and inept.

Which begs the question, so how do you convince the people to put government in charge of health care?
