Am I right in thinking that US expenditure in attacking Iran almost surpasses total US aid you Ukraine since 2022?

And as @carlhendrick.substack.com seems doomed to point out forever, practices that do have evidence bases can still be subject to mutations. There is tremendous momentum towards adapting everything to β€˜our context’ I.e. throwing fidelity out the window.

Sadly there is still a massive inertia in the system geared towards β€˜accommodations’ instead of ensuring children learn.
Like labels, β€˜accommodations’ have become an explanation for - and cause of - low progress.

Tomorrow I'll be talking @researchedbrum.bsky.social on one of my minor obsessions: Why sometimes people change and other times they don't. I think it's a big reason why most PD fails.

I am finding it really hard to tell apart the Telegraph generated headlines from the fun online generator.

The Catholic Bishops are entirely right. The crusade to end birthright citizenship is immoral, inconsistent with our law, and an affront to the dignity of children born in the United States. And the people working in earnest to undermine it should be ashamed of themselves.

Presenting a potted history of Ofsted in Session 3 at @researchedbrum.bsky.social . Join me in the Library to look at missed inspections, missing schools, poor financial records, and misleading statements to Parliament, as we seek to answer the question 'Does Ofsted make sense?' #rEDBrum

Honestly, how does the Home Office serve the country with this obviously performative headline stuff.
It’s as if it’s run by psychopaths who turn cruelty into entertainment for other psychopaths.

We are here and so glad that you keep us informed. I understand how the dried must be unbearable. And see with amazement the strength and determination of Ukrainians. We will continue to support Ukraine. You are not destroyed, and your enemies are falling.

The most trafficked wild mammal in the world. πŸ’”

Over the last decade, its estimated over 1 million pangolins have been taken from the wild.

This is one of the lucky ones, now safe from poachers.

With your support, we’re helping to ensure many more get the same chance. ❀️#WorldPangolinDay

Wholly in favour of this as long as it also applies to Eton, Westminster etc.

I was just going to say - yeah nah. Acknowledging it doesn’t endorse it.

Jesus makes this explicit eg when he talks about how the law allows divorce but calls the hearers to a higher standard.

Some say that Ukraine should be grateful for everything.
The truth is exactly the opposite. The rest of us should be grateful to Ukraine.

Good teaching is not a special measure Why the principles that support children with special educational needs are the foundations of effective teaching for all

Excellent outline of how explicit teaching is also the most inclusive - and equitable - approach that teachers can take.

Exactly this. Instead of judging everything by focus group feedback, or worse by your feed on X, just be decent.

The fact that a bunch of people got radicalised on social media does not mean the rest of us should treat them as if batsh*t ideas are reasonable ways to run a country.

BBC News (UK) on X: "Dad shot daughter after 'arguing about Donald Trump' https://t.co/ybx5XDpNiE" / X Dad shot daughter after 'arguing about Donald Trump' https://t.co/ybx5XDpNiE

Trump is a symptom of America β€˜s illness, not the cause. Here, for example, a guy shoots his own daughter and faces no consequences. Presumably his MAGA credentials carried more weight.

In 2019, just 16.7% of rural India had access to tap water. By 2026, over 80%. That's 125 million rural households connected to clean, running water in just seven years. The biggest, fastest sanitation drive in human history. Headline news?

Some really important points to consider here. A must read thread. πŸ‘

You don't improve behaviour by reducing suspensions. You reduce suspensions by improving behaviour.

One of these things is really easy to do. The other requires far more widely reaching change.
