Opening night of BURLESQUE at a small cinema in D.C., a female friend and I were definitely in the minority, and the whole place cheered after Tess’s dramatic ballad (a song that has the most amazing setup of any dramatic ballad in a musical ever).

Oh, that subscription box is *really* going to help me drink less wine! My husband is hosting his cast for a new show tomorrow night while I hide with the dogs in the bedroom on my non-rehearsal night and am counting the hours until I am comfy with a book and mug of sleepy tea.

We had a big discussion of this over dinner last night. Two come from the same county as Turncoat Tricia, so Hampton pointed out that while the county is reliably blue bc of its large urban center, it’s surrounded by rich suburbs, so maybe they were trying to represent their constituents after all.

None of the thrillers I’ve read lately have been super stellar, but I recently finished I SEE YOU by Clare Mackintosh, and it was a fine weekend read. I’ve read a lot of her catalog and she’s pretty reliable.
