Valladolid had a good second half gave absolutely everything just didn’t take their chances when they came.

Valladolid got level with a deserved equaliser thanks to one of the goals of the season an unbelievable free kick from captain Javi Sanchez.

Carry much more of a threat in open play & set pieces because of his delivery.

Garcia once again good in goal made a very important save in the first half & did everything else he needed to do to help his defence cope with Valladolid’s dangerous attacks especially towards the end of the game.

Managed the game quite well Valladolid still had many chances but Espanyol did enough to get over the win the game.

Paudo was great again sharp in his movement had one chance & took it.

Tejero was brilliant in midfield so much quality on the ball when he has it Espanyol….

Espanyol struggled at the start defended a bit deeper found it difficult to be a threat in transition as Valladolid really took control of the game.

As the half went on Espanyol slowly got better didn’t create much but when the chance arrived it was taken.

Valladolid were also good in the first half mainly defending deep having the majority of possession as the half went on they grew into the game started to move the ball with more quality & created a couple of great opportunities.

Espanyol took the lead with a moment of fantastic quality which is what the game needed to get it going when Tejeros pass forward was controlled brilliantly by Paudo who then scored with a fantastic….

First Half Espanyol were decent it was a even first half they were happy to let Valladolid have more of the ball as Espanyol were well organised defensively not too deep & waited for their moments either from set pieces or transitions.

Smart finish past Dimitrievski.

Important result for Madrid wasn’t a great performance but they did what they do found a way to win.

Much quicker everyone taking less touches in the end Madrid go the goals they needed to win.

The first was a fantastic quick passing move set up brilliantly by Bellingham & finished well by Modric.

Bellingham got the winner his pressure forced Guilliamon into an under hit back pass & he scored…

I understand his frustration but his reaction was totally unacceptable he had to be held back from attacking the referee.

Madrid actually ended up playing better when they went down to ten men they were more fired up started to move on the ball around Valencia’s box….

Madrid then went down to ten men after an altercation between Dimitrievski & Vini. Dimitrievski pushed Vini who then put his hands around his neck & pushed him to the ground.

I thought it should have been a yellow for each but the rules are clear after VAR review Vini was sent off.

A penalty which IMO should not of been given for an apparent foul by Tarrega.

Bellingham took the penalty that was missed after it hit the post it probably should have been retaken because Dimitrievski was off his line by the refs & VAR decided that wasn’t case…..

Madrid completely dominated possession still found it difficult to create quality chances they didn’t test Valencia enough even though they did make them tire.

Madrid had a fantastic chance for a equaliser when Barrenechea lost possession in midfield Mbappe ran forward & won…

Guerra was fantastic especially in the first half his composure on the ball to starts moves was very important personally I think Corberan made a mistake in taking him off.

Real Madrid were better in the second half even though once again it took them a while to get going…..

Wants some players in the second half wanted to have possession others didn’t know what to do when being closed down those mistakes especially on the ball cost them in the dying seconds.

Tarrega was impressive at the back aggressive, good on the ball showed good pace as well…

Chance with the last kick of the game when Rioja cut inside from the right had an unbelievable shot that hit the post & came out.

Disappointing result for Valencia first half performance was very good second half they lacked energy & the conviction of the idea that Corberán….

Half they didn’t even look to do it Dimitrievski was playing long to Duro who struggled to compete against Rudiger & Tchouameni in the air.

Valencia didn’t have any real counter attacking threat they never looked like asking questions of Madrids defence.
