Of what it meant to be human and to be swept away in a hopeless, maddening whirlwind of romance;

What it meant to live, knowing her years in this world burned like a candle that could be snuffed out at any given minute.

It was through the clashing of metal and the shared moments of respite that awakened Lumine to the possibility she had never once considered in the entirety of her lifetime:

Whether as an enemy locked in a deathmatch, or as a fellow warrior who possessed the same kind of zeal and intimate knowledge of warfare as she did.

He went by several names, donned countless masks—but to Lumine, he would always be someone fated to stand on the opposite side of the battlefield.

But it wasn't that little blip in her near-infinite existence that opened her eyes to the relentless passage of time:

And while their sojourn to Teyvat might have cost more than half a millenium of celestial freedom, it was still of little consequence in the grand scheme of things.

She had always been against making a stopover to Teyvat; but being one with the stars made Lumine and Aether duty-bound to respond to the heaven's summoning. Where they are needed, they must go.

To her, time was simply another kind of disposable, expendable currency that came in natural excess—

Until the day that it wasn't.

There were moments where waves would come crashing over seemingly endless tides—yet most could only create a few ripples at best.
