like it's just sort of missing from these discourses that as much as it sucks to repress autistic behaviours it also sucks hard to be visibly autistic/grow up so significantly socially and developmentally disabled that you DO get childhood diagnosed. wording this badly i think but yk what i mean

it seems really unfathomable to some people that there are other autistics who literally cannot this and that is really socially detrimental. to me it fits alongside weird rhetoric about adult diagnosis being a harder lot because of basically fiction about substantial support for minors
