Replace 2005 with 2011 and this is me. Growing up in Cleveland, I'm still tied to all my Cleveland teams, but I never cared about the Crew and years in Chicago didn't connect me to the Fire. So here I am, the world's only Guardians Cavs Sounders Reign fan who also has some love for the Mariners.

Another random thought here: it'll be really easy to just assume "high percent of overturns good, low percent bad" when evaluating players/teams, but it's probably not that simple? A team getting a super high percent of challenges right is quite possibly not challenging enough.

The clippers were among the least successful teams in terms of % of challenges won, but they were also among the teams that used challenges most on offense and least on pitching. Wonder if that's just a thing that happened or an organizational philosophy?

Yeah you can get replacement level added for missed games but weeks get fuzzy. Is 4 games a "missed week" because you bench the guy and replace him? Or is it just 4 games that week because you use the guy anyway? I don't play much weekly but when I do, math on how I downgrade platoon guys is fuzzy

Anyone watch this game and able to validate this? The numbers on Savant for this game seem weird. None of the pitches (for any pitchers) had any drop and multiple pitchers (though not all) had big velo gains. Curious how real this is vs. weird data.

In a 6x6 H2H categories league (OBP HR R RBI SB 2B+3B; ERA WHIP K/BB K QS Sv), I need to "franchise" two guys. Two players will get voted off my roster, but the two franchise players are immune. $260 cap, 25 man rosters, 12 teams. Pretty set on Jose. But Kirby at $15 or Stowers at $3 for the other?

As a parent, I love the Alyssa Liu story. So much pressure on kids these days (even non-olympians) to do things the "right" way, be who they're supposed to be instead of who they want to be, check all the boxes. I just love seeing a young woman say "nah fuck that, I'm doing me" and getting a gold.

Might have gotten little lost among more visible players/names anyway, but first thing people note about him is his family, before they get to "talented FB whose ability to impact the game at both ends is crucial to the Sounders success."

So what about parents? If we close all schools and daycares and anywhere else kids can go, do parents of young kids just have to manage? I'm open to a holiday, it probably won't hurt. But I think it solves no problems that the other solutions don't already solve more effectively.

I'm curious if that's a problem that needs solving. Do we lack for polling places or hours due to lack of volunteers? Or do we have enough volunteers even though not everyone can do it?

Also having now voted for years in WA which is all vote by mail, I've come to believe that's the best solution.

I would add that preventing fraudulent votes is theoretically important but in practice is so rare (and so often already caught when it happens) as to be not worth putting effort into.

Multiple days, extended hours, and/or vote by mail would both make voting easier/more accessible. Holiday would have basically no impact.

Holidays never actually give EVERYONE days off. Make it a holiday and all the office workers who can already step out easily to vote can still step out easily to vote, and all the hourly/retail workers who can't step out easily to vote still have to work anyway.

That's true. Though I took him in OBP leagues where he'll maybe play up. TBH I'm less worried about being a one cat problem; my concern is that he just can't hit MLB pitching. It's high risk/high reward but (IMO) without keeper value the reward isn't big enough for the risk, in most cases
