NFL replay challenge success rates have skyrocketed. A new camera feed may be why Replay challenge success rates have increased by about half this year, largely fueled by a new camera angle.

Ever wonder what is going on when the broadcast references "New York" making a call or changing a spot? The league office must be hearing the griping about replay assist changing w/out explanation bc they let us reporters into "New York" aka Art McNally Gameday Central.

McPherson said he expects someone to break the 66-yard FG record this season. "When I got into the league in 2021, 50 yard field goals were a huge deal.I feel like it's switched to you pretty much have to make everything on your side of the field. That's where it's trending.

HC Zac Taylor said postgame that he wasn't even aware it could have set a new record. "Clearly he can make it," Taylor said.
McPherson said he wasn't thinking about the timeouts on his first attempt and thought it would count.

"It just feels like it bounces a little bit better than what we've been kicking the last few years." He said he's been practicing longer range FGs than he had in previous years, bc "the balls have been so jumpy, and we feel like we can attempt longer kicks."

He said that being able to practice with the same K balls they use in the game this year and have more time to break the K balls in (a rules change for 2025) has added "close to ten yards" to every field goal kick.

Talked to Bengals K Evan McPherson postgame after his 67-yard FG attempt that counted fell short of making NFL history. (He made the one he was iced on!) He said bc of the wind assist, "70 yds wouldn't have been out of the question."

Eagles are so funny - every year they do some form of group therapy as an offense and then they get to the Super Bowl anyways

its the same football but its the way they are broken in with sponge/brush/water/towel - kickers like smooth, fat footballs.. QBs like textured ones

Since '99, the kicking ball prep had more restrictions than QB ball prep. Officials brought the K balls to the field & teams only had 60 minutes pregame to work on them. For yrs, coaches have been talking about making the Kball process consistent. What changed this yr?

ok more context: teams still are limited to water, towel, brush, sponge BUT the key difference is that kickers are kicking w/ same balls during PRACTICE that they use in the game. Before, they had no idea what the ball would be like on Sundays. that meant their game FG range was not same as practice
