Started learning watercolours and it's definitely a lot harder to control than acrylic.

Experimental. Tried to follow the method I use for physical paintings by restricting myself to Procreate’s new default oil brush and painting on a single layer. Messy af but I think hot sauce ratboy turned out okay.

Figure drawing classes are over! Was pretty fun and thanks to Voce for suggesting I give it a try!

That was tense, but phew, looks like I'm going Furum after all! Thank you, ticket overlords, for the second chance. 🙏

Finally done after a two-month break!

No Furum for me this year since tickets are sold out. ☹️ Lots of FOMO seeing so many friends going, but I'm still figuring out how I feel about last year's Furum, so maybe it's for the best.

My first live nude drawing, just like a real art student!

Last day in Japan! Visited the Sapporo TV tower, the clock tower, the Hokkaido-jingu shrine, the beer museum before ending with some shopping on the Tanukikoji shopping street. This period also happens to be their Tanuki festival, so managed to see some tanuki-themed decorations!

Sapporo: Visited the Tarumaesan shrine, learnt about the works of Miwa Komatsu at the Sapporo Art Museum, toured the Shiroi Koibito park, then ended by gawking at the many many options for adult entertainment on Susukino street.

The fireworks got cancelled, so today was mostly spent at the Noboribetsu Bear Park before walking the Jigokudani and Oyunuma nature trail!

Dressed up in Edo period costumes at the Noboribetsu Date Jidai Village, experienced everyone's phone going off with a tsunami alert, rode the Mt. Usu ropeway, visited the Ginnuma and Konpira craters before finally enjoying fireworks at Lake Toyako!

Visited the Unkai Terrace at Hoshino Resorts Tomamu to observe the "sea of clouds", had a bagel lunch with (self-made) cheese at Chidorigataki waterfall, rode a swan boat at Lake Shikotsu, and now finally at Noboribetsu!

Made some cheese, experienced the Hokkaido Heso Matsuri (aka the Furano Belly Button festival), met a kemono cat in a food truck (https://profu.link/u/kumatoneko), watched some fireworks and visited a chapel on the water!

Biei And Furano: Visited the Shikisai no Oka flower garden, had Lavender ice cream at Farm Tomita, experienced a (tethered) hot air balloon and toured the Ningle Terrace craft village!

Oh yes! Haha waaaay too many music boxes in one place. And I was fascinated by the electronic ones that could pluck the comb to play custom songs!

Asahikawa: Visited the Otokoyama Sake Brewery Museum and a random Tanbo rice paddy art display. Also had some delicious soup curry from King Bear and ramen from the Asahikawa ramen village!

Random shots from a day spent in Otaru, Hokkaido! Tried out Hokkaido's zangi fried chicken and Otaru's panju pastries.
