That bounce pass off the board for the assist was slick as hell.

You can chalk up part of the muted oil response to the gigantic increase in US production in the past 20 years, but not all of it. Maybe not even most. bsky.app/profile/drew...

They both seemed to really grasp that they're on the same team, and took care not to actively disparage one another.

And if you're in Harris County you specifically need to vote Plummer in the D runoff for County Judge.

I think the 2023 Houston mayoral runoff really stuck the idea of runoff adverse selection in my head, but that was a general, even if it felt like a primary because mayor is a nonpartisan race.

From the TX Secretary of State website's voter FAQs:
Q: Can I vote in one party's primary election and another party's primary runoff election?
A: No. By voting in a party’s primary election, a voter has affiliated themselves with that party and is ineligible to participate in the convention or primary runoff election of another party during that calendar year. (§§162.012, 162.013).

In case any other Texans had the same idea as me...

Drivers complaining about having to pay for public and active transport is like ordering all the most expensive items on the menu, refusing to share it, splitting the bill and then complaining about having to pay for everyone else's meal of one serving of breadsticks.

Do you know if there is a similar county skew for the R vote? My intuition would be any urban counties would lean Cornyn, but probably not nearly the same magnitude of e.g. Dallas-Harris spread as on the D side.

Raytheon Executive: I know you’re skeptical about buying American again. But hear me out. The MIM-104 Patriot is the only surface to air missile system with a proven track record of success against the US Air Force.

Danish Defense Minister: Continue.

FWIW even 10 years ago if you told someone we literally assassinated the Ayatollah and Brent crude was up $7 to open, someone would think surely you left off a zero or something.

The $50M is honestly the only part that makes the OP absurd. For like...several thousand dollars, sure, the original is a decent challenge for the average person.

As a Talarico fan I've been glad to have her in the race. Both candidates/campaigns have IMO done a great job of presenting their case without resorting to friendly fire. If anything the lack of animosity between them has seemed to piss off pundits, hence some of the pot stirring from without.

Took me a long time to realize it's not just the insurance companies squeezing patients. The hospitals are more than happy to collaborate as long as their cut gets bigger too. There's also something sinister about so many of these systems being nonprofits...

Crazy enough, the only Republican primary I've ever voted in was 2016, to vote for...Ted Cruz (for president). Seemed like the only viable alternative to Trump at the time.

Listen as bad as the vibes there are it’s simply undeniable that Miami has enough tall buildings close together to qualify as a Real City, unlike pretenders to the title like Los Angeles or London

I like how MLB teams are using tech to track spin rate and β€œinduced vertical break” and all these other advanced ways of determining what actually makes pitches good and the Angels are like β€œyou wanna know how FAST the pitches are going?”

But the modern artificial intelligence boom might have solved the problem. Not with, like, AI agents matching buyers and sellers, blah blah blah, but more simply: Everyone on Earth has an opinion about AI valuations, so if you want to go long or short OpenAI, all you have to do is open your window and shout β€œI’m $730 bid on $1 million of OpenAI” and a passerby will shout β€œdone” and you’ll have a trade. The entire world is one big open-outcry trading floor for synthetic AI trades.
