Senate Republicans just added another life sentence to punish Americans with the audacity to want water to drink, air to breathe, and freedoms to cherish.

What do Congressional Republicans have to do to prove they really truly will never do what is right, or legal, or life affirming, or good?

If we could have voted our way to democracy, 2018, 2020 and staving off the worst in 2022 would have done it. It didn't.

We cannot keep making believe we're confronting a political party but rather we must recognize this is a fascist regime hell bent on taking our freedoms, destroying our families, and endangering our futures. And act accordingly.

I don't know what else is needed to puncture the extraordinarily well funded fantasy that we can vote (as important as that is) our way to democracy. Will yet another lifetime sentence against Americans most basic rights, needs and interests do the trick?

Judaism demands denunciation of harming other humans. To suggest that such denunciations amount to "anti-semitism" is to suggest that Judaism is at best indifferent to & at worst desirous of suffering.

This is the face of courage, of resilience, of willingness to speak out in the face of what must be extraordinary threats and relentless re-traumatizing demons.

We owe an extraordinary debt to this woman who was put through hell and continues to speak out not merely for herself but for the very notion of justice.

In America we value our freedoms, including the foundational freedom to practice our own beliefs and raise our own kids according to those beliefs. This regime of the bullies, by the bribes, for the billionaires wants to control our lives.

Reminding Americans that their fellow Americans hate LGBTQ+ people (ditto immigrants, Black people, liberated women, etc), in earnest attempt to outline horrors creates negative social proof. It gives license to these attitudes as "common sense." When most of us actually want Golden Rule.

In the bleakest of times, when the regime is absolutely determined to portray whomever they deem "other" as villain, we must be in proposition, not merely in opposition. Show not tell that we are too fabulous for fascism & attract others to the fight. Kudos!!!
