I put off getting a detangling brush for years because I thought they were an expensive con. Finally bought one and suddenly my kids are no longer screaming every morning.

Today I am thankful for my kind and fierce kids. We recently explained we don't like Harry Potter because the author uses money from it to make life hard for trans folk. E had already taken this to heart, and today M told Waterstones staff not to sell any HP stuff. #40daysofgratitude

In past years, I have marked Lent with #40daysofgratitude. It feels like a vital practice to look for the good in the world right now, so I'm returning to it this year.

Today I am thankful for my kids being brave in their own ways. I love the way they so unashamedly are themselves.

Argh! I've been falling asleep on the sofa every night. Came to bed early this evening. Still awake two hours later. I do have the bones of a plan for my sabbatical though...

Saturday night in the Greenwood house means piling onto the sofas for last week's Pottery Throwdown and tonight's Gladiators, enjoyed with the now traditional pizza and battenberg for Clattenberg.

Yes, but also my five year old blows kisses into the cup every time she makes someone a drink and tells us it's her secret ingredient, and it's the cutest thing ever.

As someone who struggles with OCD, Waiting for the Out is a brilliant but brutal watch. My triggers and routines aren't the same as Dan's, but there is so much I recognise.

And the twelfth day of Christmas saw a return to work, taking down the Christmas decorations, and toasting marshmallows around the firepit.

The eleventh day of Christmas brought brunch, a walk, a bath a nap, and creamy hasselback potatoes.

The ninth and tenth days of Christmas saw us head north for a late Christmas with my side of the family. So lovely (if cold!) to watch the kids and their cousins running around the gardens at Beningbrough Hall.

The eighth day of Christmas was a quiet start to the new year, with food shopping and pottering around the house to set us up for the coming days.

This kid turns ten this year. Ten! That means we're more than half way through his childhood. I'm not ready for him to stop holding my hand as we walk to school and snuggling into my side as he watches tv.

The seventh day of Christmas has been our traditional NYE theatre trip and an excellent tea, soon to be followed by crashing out on the sofa before midnight.

The sixth day of Christmas was another slow start then a CBT appointment which left me a little wobbly. Blew some cobwebs out with a walk through the arboretum then hunkered down with gin and cake.

The fifth day of Christmas has brought some gentle pottering, a wander into town, and finishing Volume 2 of Stranger Things 5. Oh and the deliciousness of smashed potato nachos.

The third and fourth days of Christmas held a visit from my in laws, seeing out the church year with croissant and carols, and lots of cheese. Lovely!

The second day of Christmas has also been a delight. Hunting for treasures in Belton Hall, running around the adventure playground with walkie talkies, and dancing our way along the light trail. Full respect to Santa, who was more than prepared for the 5yo's questions.

Well the first day of Christmas has been delightful. Lots of festive silliness at church and plenty of tasty food at home, plus presents and games and lego and walks and books and telly. It's a fine thing to celebrate Christ's incarnation with the best of our incarnation.

Has #clergymaltclub made it across to BlueSky? We have our midnight service three hours early to coincide with midnight in Bethlehem, so I'm getting us started.
