Yeah that’s very fair. I come from an agency background so I’ll also find it easier to find stuff because of my network but I genuinely do think there’s a knowledge gap specific to games when it comes to knowing what other kind of opportunities are out there for their skill set

dunno if you can see my reply to malindy but I always found the best route to be emailing local marketing/PR agencies clips/a portfolio with a list of stuff you can do (blogs/SEO articles, press releases, email campaigns, etc.)

If they're still looking I can! Sucks that you never heard back from writing to agencies as that was the route I always had to go down - although i'd always recommend getting in touch with local/smaller agencies rather than bigger ones as that's where the help is usually needed.

Did you look at any other copywriting gigs? Genuine Q - there are so many talented gaming writers but I’ve never understood why people don’t look outside the industry when times are tough. I’m just curious because coming from agency world I know loads of people need copywriters!

I know the current climate is rough but writers should not be saying yes to work that pays $30 an article unless you're starting out and building a portfolio or in a situation where you're smashing out 7 or 8 of those articles every day.
