The 2025 competition was fierce with more than 1,600 submissions for 113 items. So many of them impressed us, shocked us, made us laugh, inspired us, or made us cry (in a good way, we promise). Your creativity knows no bounds and your submissions as a whole bring us all soβ¦
The other Runner Ups should be incredibly proud of their work. So many amazing submissions that you all clearly spent time and effort on. Your ability to sow both joy and chaos is unprecedented. Please continue put this energy out into the world.
*Please review rules 12 and 14
Some of our favorites were the medium-sized medium, the Nikola Tesla musical, caffeine painting, horror nursery rhyme, published Op-Ed, knitted sweater, and the installed signage on an elephant path. Outstanding work!
18.10.2025 13:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Goatzilla smashed into 2025 with incredible work that seriously impressed all of the judges - so much artistic talent, creative video editing, and going the extra step to see what can make an item stand out.
18.10.2025 13:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Altruist Prize Winner: Circus Noir
Circus Noir wins just 35 points ahead of the next team. Their creative approach earned them bonus points on a number of their Altruism items. We loved their chalk affirmation, appreciated their contribution to No Decisions Without Us, & were impressed by their incredible fundraising work for APOPO.
18.10.2025 13:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In a Rogue first, Goatzilla scored the top points in both categories, but as they can only win one prize per year* the Altruist prize is passed on to second place. However, since Funky Ruckus won this category in 2024* they are also ineligible for the prize.

Judges Prize Runner Ups: Teams LoveMeSomePie, Bloodhounds, VIDI, WaywardFunshines
Our runner's up in this category also impressed us with their photography / staging, artistry, honesty, silliness, and ability to spread spontaneous joy to the community.

Team Who's Fork is This? showed incredible staging, photography, attention to detail, creativity & making connections. We also loved that the pieces for the Cyrus Kabiru item were scavenged from a field near an abandoned plant.
18.10.2025 13:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This year's winner is not for one specific item, but for a person/team with a number of incredible submissions. Whose Fork is This? had multiple items in our top contenders. Rather than picking one above the others, we are awarding the judge's prize for the collective impact of these submissions.
18.10.2025 13:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Judges' Prize - Both our favorite to give and the hardest to agree on. This year we had more than 1,600 submissions for 113 items. So many of them impressed, shocked, inspired, or made us laugh/cry (in a good way). Your creativity knows no bounds & your submissions as a whole brings so much joy.

Congrats also to Panty Passers (the fact that this math works blows our mind) and Goatzilla (Your costuming, acting, and editing for this is wonderful!)

Your items for #42 were certainly weird, funny, thought-provoking, and mathematically complicated. We loved seeing the wide variety of answers & proofs. This year's winner is a team who made us laugh out loud with their answer, along with some incredible camera work & video editing. We're impressed!

Knit sweater vest in large stripes of black and yellow shown on a young person who is on the street and lined up with the road separating lines.
This is an image from the same photography session with a longer view towards the local gas station and distant vehicles.
Here my daughter laughs while trying to get into position to line up with the road.
Image taken from a different angle to see what the lighting looked like on this side facing the crossing walk.
#showmeyourknits Stripes Week
This is a great follow up to my last post. Frequently when Iβm trying to choose an image to submit for a scavenger hunt challenge I struggle with knowing which to pick. These were other fun options. [see prompt in previous post.]

I've been busy this past week with @theroguehunt.bsky.social
Here's a couple of my things.
It's been a fun time!
Item No. 030 Challenge Prompt: (Image) Knit or crochet a sweater, vest, or dress that disappears into the surroundings. Photograph someone wearing your creation. They and the rest of the outfit should be their normal wear so that only the knitted / crocheted part of the outfit blends in with the background. When I first read this, I was immediately imagining working with some kind of camouflage yarn color and knitting up a vest and then photographing it out in the woods. But I didnβt have any great yarn in these tones and the idea seemed to ordinary. As I continued to think what I could knit in a day and then photograph on a model, stripes seemed the easiest way to go. Which led me to thinking where stripes exist in my surroundings for a photo - which led to the lines on the road! Sweater vest knit using black primary yarn from Plied Yarn Company with a golden yellow from Madelinetosh. I convinced my daughter to model in the middle of the road at night. Luckily our town is pretty quiet at night. π But we still had to keep running back and forth when a car would come by. Finally got some great photos! I love the images and the memories of it even more! #knitsky #knitweardesigner #ravelry #knittersofbluesky #knitting #sweater #camouflage #woldten #GISH #RogueHunt π§Άπ§΅πͺ‘ ps: Misha - please bring back GISH for an anniversary year! We miss our whole team playing together!
For one week out of every year, I participate in an annual scavenger hunt. It used to be known as GISH, but when that ended another group formed called The Rogue Hunt. This is an image from one item in this yearβs hunt. Read alt text for details.

Watercolor painting done entirely with espresso. I achieved varying shades of brown by adjusting the amount of espresso powder that I used. I decided to use an image of Jodie Foster for inspiration. This is a scene from the film βContactβ. I have loved Jodie Foster in just about everything Iβve seen her in since she was a little girl. She has made such a huge to contribution to the world of entertainment. Also, this film in particular inspired me to get my amateur radio license. I am now certified at the highest level for amateur radio operators - General Class. This is the image, so I can remember it always. Her, with her headset on, listening to the sound of space next to a computer terminal. #scavengerhunt #theroguehunt #gish #gishwhes #gishwhesforever #forevergisher #mishacollins #watercolor #artshare π¨ποΈπΌοΈ @mishacollins.bsky.social
