But first I gotta have an idea of how long of a measurement line I'll need.

So the visual assessment will be necessary, ergo doing repeat venous sampling at different temperature. May as well put my blood into it.

For repeatability we'll optimize the system by using a set of photodiodes and blue LEDs, thanks the absorption spectrum of blood in both oxygenated and non-oxygenated states

Each connected to a hysteresis comparator to detect when the blood reaches each barrier

Idea is that while the tubing lines can be kept insulated, the subjects/patients may be too cold. Even at a mere 2C body exposure we still see some adverse rheology during blood sampling. Ideally we'll be able to quantize the limit and model that flow accordingly

Hand will be immersed into a vat of temperature-controlled water, up to the styloid process. Setpoints will follow a set sequence of gradually-decreasing values, ranging from 25C to 5C

That way we get both flowrate along the vacutainer line and for each temperature value.

Idea is to run a three-way adapter on a venous catheter with a saline bypass flush and a vacutainer for sample collection. Length of tubing will be graduated and recorded with a camera set to a high framerate (to add a bit more accuracy to flowrate calculation)
