Safeguard against DoS in Rails helper One recent contribution to the Rails codebase caught my attention. It concerns the distance_of_time_in_words method. The fix is meant to prevent a possible Denial of Service while using this method.

PHP is more widely used for sure, but Ruby and Rails is well represented in Europe as well. And on all continents to be fair.

One of the reasons I gave up on the Mac was the challenge to remove the backplate to clean the dust. It is much simpler on the Framework and I clean it about once a month.

I don't tinker with my vim config other than once in a while adding something new to my toolset. I also use the arrow keys and the touchpad. With that setup, vim is what makes me the most productive.

Rails 8 comes with a SilenceRequest Rack middleware. It is pretty useful when you want to exclude healthchecks from your logs. If you are on an older version of Rails, you can just put this into an initializer and enable it with 'config.silence_healthcheck_path = "/up"'
