Yeah, I lost a retail job because I didn’t push hard enough to get people to open a store card. I had been there 2 years, never missed a shift, never written up for anything. It sucks.

☑️ Fell on the ice leaving for work (I’m okay, just scraped up my hands and my dignity)

☑️ Had a snafu with tomorrow’s flight reservations (fixed now, but was stressful)

☑️ Spent several hours to fix a big mistake my colleague made

☑️ Running like a nut just to take 1.5 days off

Today is fired.

You know, I’ve always been against the death penalty, but these assholes make me seriously reconsider.

I once showed up for a first coffee meeting with a guy who visibly noped out as soon as he saw me.

Also, he was badly groomed, looked/smelled like he needed a shower, and was wearing a stained sweatshirt.

It’s nice when the trash takes itself out.

Take a deep breath. Step back. Would you be upset if someone else said this to you about someone you care about?

Self talk can be super harsh, and it’s good to distance and think about what’s being said. I know I only know you as a pocket friend, but I don’t believe any of these things about you.

I feel this today. In among everything else, we had a mass shooting at a high school hockey game a few days ago, but here I am working on our annual audit, and building an email blast about a book club. It’s surreal.

I’ve always hated “grown up cereals”, and loved kid cereals. I’m in my 50s and trying to eat healthier, so Oats Overnight totally captured my heart - my favorite flavors are s’mores, bananas foster, and pecan pie.

I had a boss once who was so “well loved” that most members of the facilities staff would whistle Darth Vader’s theme whenever they passed her.

During Covid, my dad asked me how they could accelerate the mRNA research so quickly. I explained that when scientists are given research money, instead of having to spend time fundraising, they get to spend all their time on science. It’s pretty simple, really.

Look at the timing: you’re not stupid, your system is overwhelmed. High anxiety and stress can impair memory and recall.

I left an emotionally abuse marriage after 17 years, then spent several years dating the wrong people and trying to heal.

Right there with you. I have had several calls from our clients today asking about a start date. It’s in the last 3 newsletters. It’s on the members page of the website. It’s posted on site. It’s on four different calendar formats available to them.

The worst! I hate knowing I’m going to get into my freezing office and have to sit there in a soggy bra.

Age verification? We had to find out it was a snow day by listening for the fire horn to call 8-8-8.

We have them at my work, so it’s not an option for me to do that (not my decision to make). With that said, I do have control of them, and have focused them so that they do capture our entrances/exits, but do not capture anything from the street or sidewalk. So pretty much useless to anyone but us.
