Such an accomplished debut!

Can see this becoming a family addiction, it's ace!

19. Drive to Goldenhammer by Divorce
Fantastic debut album from Nottingham band, Divorce. Their duel vocals work a treat here, and their brand of somewhat theatrical, alt-country tinged indie-rock, is surely taking them onto bigger and better things!

There's also a pretty decent cover of Christian Brothers by Elliott Smith on the Deluxe version.

Listening to this one again. Shares similarities with the new Rocket album ... you might like it @ricrus77.bsky.social

Remember watching it on Xmas Day with tears rolling down my face and a general inability to breathe!

There's not a lot separating all their albums, but Morbid Stuff pips it imo.
Hope you like it. Volume up 🙂

20. Forever by Lilly Hiatt
Good tunes with a 90’s alt rock vibe.
A song kept alive by the greatest fans of any footy team! #NFFC

20. Automatic by The Lumineers
I bucked the trend on this, it's not their most popular album! Musically more sparse, which gives the vocals & underlying message space to breathe. Still rustic, but a more cynical & bleak edge than is usual for them.

The 9000 different artists is an incredible stat! I've listened to pretty much nothing but 'new to me' artists this year and I'm currently at 1171 different ones, but that's probably because I've been listening to entire albums and not playlists.

21.Fatal Optimist by Madi Diaz
Very stripped back break up album.

21. Downpour by Charmer
The 1st of several emo-oriented albums in my top 25, it's broodily melancholic yet verging on anthemic, with overdriven, punchy grunge era guitars. Deeply introspective, influenced by the transition from youth into adulthood.

I've listened to Spotify for 59,190 minutes so far this year, I'd be a tad lost without it 😅

22. Through this fire across from Peter Balkan by The Mountain Goats
Another fine album from a band that do love a concept album
Would definitely recommend this to anyone that harbor's any affection towards Teenage Fanclub!

22. Bleeds by Wednesday
Whilst not quite hitting the chaotic peaks of RatSawGod, this is a more refined album and continues their fine form of making raw, intimate & erratic music that, for me, got better with each listen (at least initially).
