I can't argue with that, though I think we might be at cross-purposes here. I was referring more specifically to how people inform (or don't) their political decisions.

Look if your choices are "Free Palestine" and "supporting a genocide in which journalists and children are mass murdered and hospitals and aid workers are carpetbombed" I'm pretty sure "Free Palestine" is the better, more moral, and less deadly option

It's a double AI problem: people are using Artificial Intelligence to compensate for lack of Actual Intelligence. Laziness too: why bother to think if you can get something/someone to do it for you.

One of the things Gen X (OK, technically, I'm late-Boomer, but it's a state-of-mind thing) must find weird is how we grew up thinking that the relative calm, affluence and social progress of our childhood and adolescence was part of a continuing improvement, rather than just a blip.

That is pretty much how I feel. Looking forward to it, as usual.

Not just because of media bias. I expect more/better from them and I dare say I'm not alone. This particular story is somewhat typical of the differing standards in the media though, as it is the sort of thing the previous government seemed to do on a regular basis without attracting any attention.
