Meanwhile, Trump is throwing Ukraine under the bus. Ukraine never became a cause for the progressive left, to its eternal shame I have to say. If you believe in freedom and democracy, this is a time to speak.

I am heartbroken as I witness the bodies of four hostages, including two babies, being paraded by Hamas more than 500 since their capture. It is grotesque and heartbreaking. Meanwhile, antisemitic acts in the US are up 1000%. This comes from the right and the left.

Let's pray deeply, like Martin Luther King Jr. did before every major decision. Prayer fuels our commitment to justice and righteousness.

As mainline churches, we find ourselves on the margins. But isn't that where Jesus did his work? Maybe this is where we meet Him fully.

My first church in the US was City of Refuge, led by Bishop Yvette Flunder. A sanctuary for those on the margins, it taught me the power of radical inclusion.
