I'll resurrect this account sometime soon, I just got sick twice and it completely derailed everything, so I had no energy to use multiple social media and then I forgot about it

Maybe once I get a new phone I'll download the app so it'll be harder to forget

I felt like doing some strong lighting, and it worked out really well with how I don't quite have the right markers for Heizou's hair

Also, I didn't know how I wanted to ink this because I haven't colored on paper in months, so I made the outlines stand out as little as possible

Who needs dedicated anatomy studies, when you have annoying to figure out poses...

Really needed to trust the process here, but I love how this is turning out

I got way too attached to a dead oc

And the reason they die is unfortunately part of what makes them compelling

They do typically say they have potential to be a great team, rather than that they are tho, so everything we know about their relationship combined makes me think it's more like they are good friends, but still have way to go

Drawn to and curious about eachother, and it's repeatedly been said they could be great partners, and it does look like that's the case. Their personalities match in a couple of ways, yet the way their personalities match is also what makes it hard for them to get close.

Their voicelines are regarding their relationship in the present, because they're often set in really random points in time. Sometimes several years in the past for some reason...

Basically I think the awkwardness is related to how both of them are as people. And it's interesting, 'cause they seem

Who doesn't need any assistance, and some quotes from in-game and the 2.8 make it sound like he or others try to justify it (like he doesn't need an assistant since he has his intuition or the "path of a genius is lonely") yet he practically yearns for closeness.

Also, I'm not sure how reliable -

Often avoids people and is awkward when someone wants to be his friend, shows he really wants to be close to him.

Something I find really interesting about Heizou, is how while he disappears for a long time, is in a way avoidant of others, is seen as an extremely competent person -

Release, is that he does have people who want to get close with him or be his friends. His loneliness is more related to his inability to be open with others.

About some things from your childhood is the one who knows you best? Well, that's concerning. It's a pretty good confirmation he doesn't particularly open up to anyone.
And another thing about him is that he doesn't meet the people he's closest to often.

Something that became obvious after his -

I immediately went "wow, that's sad" in my head. For one because he has living immediate family and it implies they don't know him that well, but also, the person who complains she can never find you, immediately could tell you weren't there to see her, and really seems to not have the full picture-

Some clear examples are his hesitance to directly invite Kazuha to hang out, his first birthday letter, his first interaction with Uesugi, and that one time he tried saying "my bro"

But aside from that, he's also just awfully closed off. I remember when I first heard him say "you know me best cuz"-

2. Heizou is just a rather awkward person in general. It's easy to forget -seemingly both irl and in canon- with how playful and confident he acts, how competent he is in what he does, and how so many people praise him, but it really shows sometimes.

and already knew, are characters he only recently got close to

It comes of like he was slowly recovering, but had another loss at a time he wasn't ready to.

So whenever the two of them met, it's likely Kazuha was still more closed off

(I hope I didn't misremember anything, I go over his lore, -

related to the loss of his family and his clan falling while in his hands. We're told he befriended people in his travels, but was closed off from the crux fro the longest time. But it doesn't appear like most of them were close friendships, and a lot of the characters he's close to now -

And it's probably due to two things:
1. When we first meet Kazuha, he's not yet done with his journey with grief, and has a harder time opening up to people. I doubt that was entirely because of his friend's death, considering a bit part of his story was about figuring out how to cope with the grief

Honestly, it's kinda hard to tell. They seem to know eachother pretty well, better than most of other characters know them even (esp in Heizou's case, but that's one low bar to set), and they both admire eachother in a way, but at the same time their relationship seems to still be kinda awkward.

Favorite characters wears sandals makes it hard to forget that I keep putting it off. I did a grand total off one after I don't even know how long

Studying also gets easier over time tho. You start noticing more details and knowing what to look for better

But I also want to do some perspective, background, expression, lighting, facial anatomy and animal studies. They've all been piling up... I technically need to do some more foot studies as well, but it's kinda uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the fact what one of my -

You do get faster over time tho. Studies help with simplification too, because the morr you understand what you're simplifying, the easier it is to know how it'll work when simplified

It definitely varies depending on the artstyle tho, since lots of people don't use as many colors for shading

Also, this is kinda badly blended because I was too lazy to open my laptop, so I made it with ibis paint's basic brushes, but I hope it helps

There are some of official arts where it has a yellow tint, but I think it's usually more of a redish tint. It's easier to not make it look dirty if you make it more redish, so I personally prefer that

I tried to summarise how I personally color it, but it's mostly for natural day lighting

What is it about his hair that gives you trouble? I've done a bunch of studies of it because it used to give me a hard time, so I can probably help. I think.
