🚫 Countries like Denmark and France have already introduced national #PFAS bans.
 
✅ They promote industry innovation and help to protect citizens and the environment in these countries.
 
💪 But everyone in Europe deserves equal protection from PFAS.

🔍 @forbrugerraadet.bsky.social checked the ingredient lists of 38 hair oils and found that many contain #HarmfulChemicals.

👏 However, 7 hair oils were rated ‘A’, their best rating, showing that better options are available for consumers.

🧴A new study from @forbrugerraadet.bsky.social has identified problematic chemicals in hair oils.

⚠️They checked the ingredient lists of 38 hair oils purchased in Denmark and 17 received their lowest rating of ‘C’, due to the presence of suspected #EDCs

‼️ However, so far, national bans mainly target consumer products.
 
📈 They do not address industrial uses of PFAS, which are a major source of emissions.

✅ Avoid handling receipts where possible.
 
⚠️ Receipts can contain harmful chemicals – instead, opt for email receipts, don’t store receipts in purses or wallets, and don’t give them to children to hold.

✅ Try to buy products with eco-labels.
 
👍 Labels to look out for include: the EU Ecolabel, Blue Angel, Nordic Swan, PFAS-free or PFC-free, and bisphenol-free.

📦 EU ministers have formally adopted the #OSOA package.

👏The proposals include establishing a common data platform, which the @ec.europa.eu must ensure is fully functioning within three years.

Toy safety: Parliament adopts new rules to enhance child health protection | News | European Parliament The new rules seek to decrease the number of unsafe toys sold in the EU and to protect children from toy-related risks.

After the Regulation is published in the European Union Official Journal, there is a transition period of 4.5 years.

The revised Regulation will introduce new restrictions on:

👉 Known or suspected endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs)
👉 PFAS, aka the #foreverchemicals
👉 10 hazardous bisphenols

👏 The European Parliament has voted today on the last step in the revision of the Toy Safety Regulation, introducing stronger protections for children against the most harmful #chemicals in toys!

This is great news for families across the EU!
