Republicans spent 17 months on Benghazi because 4 Americans were killed.
It’s been 3 days and Trump’s illegal Iran attack has already gotten 6 American soldiers killed. He promises more will die soon. And Republicans don’t care.

Not sure what’s going on with the neck.
Whoever they got to fix his ear should take a look.
What a ridiculous thing to complain about. Measure it in feet or metres or fathoms or hamsters… it’s a countdown. You stop when it gets to zero.

This is the other tower. At busier airports it gets so busy near the terminals and aircraft parking areas that the apron areas need their own dedicated agencies to direct traffic.

These digital sign boards are handy.
In Toronto they give us our departure time and the frequency to contract. In other airports they’re even better, giving us our departure runway and SID.
They also have sensors that guide us in to park.
Hey, Iran…. Just sayin’

I had one of those on the 220. The whole plane sat lower to the ground but it still would’ve been an awkward way to get out.

In the event of an emergency where the cockpit door is jammed/obstructed and we need to evacuate the flight deck, our alternate exits are the windows.
It’s also nice to get a bit of a breeze while I’m reviewing the flight plan.

The green dot represents the speed that corresponds to my best lift/drag ratio.
If I were to lose an engine this is the speed I’d target.
The little hashmarks show where speed protection will kick in - where the automation will start trying to help get us back into the normal envelope.

Khamenei was a butcher. I’m not going to shed a tear for the dictator of a repressive theocracy.
Nor am I particularly confident that US and Israeli air strikes are harbinger of a secular liberal democracy.
The US is much better at blowing stuff up than they are with successful regime changes.
One thing about me… I’m a giant chicken.
Another thing about me… I’m kinda lazy.
Big margins make fewer demands on my nerves and my attention. 😀
You’ve got me there.
The only jets I’ve ever flown are airliners, and we just poke ourselves up into the stratosphere now and then.
U2 pilots are out there wearing astronaut suits at the edge of space - I’m not sure what crazy stuff pilots are dealing with at FL900.

I wasn’t really using correct phraseology since I was trying to get the point across and stay inside the character limit.
I was using “speed tape” to describe the scroll like airspeed indicator on the left side of the primary flight display.
There’s a maximum and minimum speed that we can fly where we still get a smooth, subsonic flow of air over the wings.
These numbers change depending on the atmosphere and the weight of the airplane.
If those numbers get closer you find yourself in the “coffin corner”.
40kts is as tight as I’ll go
My perf charts go up to the fanciful altitude of 41,450.
So yeah, 41,000.
Tickling the stratosphere. It was the optimum performance altitude.
I’d be unhappy with this kinda margin between the speed tapes if I were over the ocean or downwind of a mountain range.
Over the US Eastern seaboard in the middle of the night we had a quick way out if things got tight.

If you spend time in the bad place, you’re hearing this claim a lot:
Alberta sends $23B more to Ottawa than it gets back. If we separated, we’d erase the $9B deficit and have a $14B surplus.
It sounds simple. It’s wrong. Here's why. 🧵
