*how actual governance works that is

Though I wonder how much actual governance behind the scenes for each works (eg, is the Board of NPR or PBS elected by member stations?). I don’t expect there are workers/reporters on the boards of local stations, tho likely audience members…anyways, perhaps an opportunity-as-a-crisis moment…

And yeah in the immediate w/public funding going the way it has, I wonder if there’s a place for a more clear move to a multistakeholder model like you mention versions of in the paper…NPR & PBS do seem like versions of the AP association model you describe yeah?

Public dollars seem to make sense tho, & neat paper, thnx—skimmed it but held onto it to come back to & share.

Not sure if or how that could relate to the public funding model, but perhaps it could be some fusion model if we can return to a day where public funding becomes more of a clear piece of things…maybe a non-profit co-op model so donations could continue to come in

@ntnsndr.in , curious if you or others you know have thought about whether there might be room for some multistakeholder cooperative model as public media faces this pretty serious crisis—eg, where reporters could become worker-owners & listeners become community-owners of local stations…

Also love the framing of asking what the anti-DEI push is for—& asking every chance what their position is on the general & the racial wealth gap. They’re winning the framing game i feel by talking about DEI, instead of things like those wealth gaps & our history of de facto white affirmative action

It seems to me, in this country the opposite of diversity in the mouth of those pushing back against DEI is often a white ethnostate—or at least a dog whistle for one.
