The suspect acted like an animal because, in fact, he's a raccoon.

I wonder how many organised efforts there have been to make online searchable collaborative platforms unpalatable or hostile to open source researchers, to push talented people back into unsearchable silos away from the wider public eye.

It took a year to replace Turkey after their S400 purchase, so no country is indispensable, anyone can be cut out and the F-35 program would go on. The UK and other allies are ahead in the program with aircraft already deployed, so they aren't going to bail, but we could use a mixed fleet.

I can't point to a good article that articulates all that; I'm still in the camp that it doesn't matter what else we get, as long as it's a mixed fleet, since the Americans could turn on us on any day of the week and cut off our supply of parts and/or kick us out of the F-35 program.
