Or 2. He could proceed with the date as if everything was normal.

Summary: Bowing farewell, Xichen attempts to mount his sword… And face-plants. Fuck. "Oh, shi— Are you okay?" As if Xichen hasn't been sufficiently humiliated, the Nie Sect leader, who just so happens to be one of the most attractive men Xichen has ever encountered, rushes to his side, helpfully offering a hand. Xichen wants to die. His face feels hot, and the handsome face peering down at him in concern is a bit blurry around the edges. What a way to make a first impression. Taking the offered hand, Xichen attempts to dust off his robes as he stands. There's a splotch of mud that can't be wiped away, and it's kind of shaped like one of the bunnies back at home. This, for some reason, strikes Xichen as incredibly funny, and he can't suppress the bubble of laughter that escapes him, followed by a hiccup. "Lan-zongzhu…" Nie-zongzhu's brow furrows. "Are you drunk?"
