It looked like they were trying to encourage natural succession of the dune and build up of sand in the process. A friend didnโ€™t think it was working too well though as bad weather was still causing erosion.

Very cool to see a live example of coastal rewilding while at Blouberg beach with the fam today. As mentioned in my talk at #IMCC7 this was one example that came up in my recent review on marine rewilding.
