Looking south west from Teddy's Lookout above Lorne, across the mouth of the St George's river with the dense forests of the hills receding into the background. A big section of those forests is currently burning in Jan 2026

As an experimental crop idea in the early 1900's, California Redwood trees were planted near Beech's Forest, in the Otways forests. To walk among these giants of nature is akin to something spiritual. Their shade, sounds, and immense presence are somehow at home in the Australian climate, and the local bird life thrive among them. These trees are potentially in peril from fires burning through the area in Jan 2026
