Hope returns to Soldier Field For Christian Groves, a Bears fan born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, this season has felt different — even if expectations remain relatively low. Groves, a DePaul senior, said he has been a Bears fan his whole life, but years of disappointment have taught him not to get his hopes up too high. “Being a Bears fan is interesting because, even though I’d always want them to win, I never really expect them to,” said Groves, a political science major.

Kate Novik earns second weekly honor roll in Big East Junior guard Kate Novik was named to the Big East Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday. This marks the second time that the Belarus native has taken home the weekly award this season. Her first selection was on Dec. 15. In DePaul’s 80-77 win over Georgetown on Saturday, the team’s only game of the week, Novik led her squad with 19 points and 10 assists, marking her third double-double of the season.

The Chicago Bears are back For Chicago Bears fans, the idea of playoff football has started to feel more like a memory than an expectation. That feeling shifted when the Chicago Bears hired head coach Ben Johnson prior to the 2025 campaign.  During the first few weeks of training camp, that renewed sense of hope could have easily been mistaken for delusion. Then the results started pouring in, with the biggest win being Saturday’s wild-card game heart-stopping victory against the Green Bay Packers.

Senior guard Kate Clarke to take medical redshirt, miss entirety of 2025-26 season On Thursday, the DePaul women’s basketball team announced that guard Kate Clarke would forgo the remainder of the 2025-26 season due to a hand injury sustained in mid-October. She will officially redshirt what would have been her senior season. Last year, Clarke was an integral part of a DePaul squad that finished with a 13-19 record, including a 8-10 mark in Big East play.

CJ Gunn named to Big East Honor Roll for second time this season Senior guard CJ Gunn was named to the Big East Honor Roll on Monday, making it his second time being named to the honor roll this season. His first selection was on Dec. 15.  In the two games last week against Villanova and Xavier, Gunn averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and a block. In both games, he led the team in scoring.
