Now I can focus on a new project with a clear conscience. 😂 I’m still not ready to say what it’s going to be, but let me just say I want to use a new AlarmKit from iOS 26 for its core feature. 😁

The update is live! 🥳 Together with the new version, I also completely changed the screenshots in the #AppStore. Well, not completely, I just decided to go with a version I’ve been experimenting with for over a month. 😅

I haven’t had such a good Monday in quite a long time! 😅 I just hope the whole week is going to be the same, as I plan to start working on my second app and join #Shipaton! 😁

New week has just started, and I already prepared new screenshots for Spark, updated metadata, sent the app for review, wrote a post for Spark social media, and created a poster for the update! 🥳 All that after 8 hours at work! 😱

I ended up scheduling "normal" notifications by using the limit each time and rescheduling all notifications whenever the user closes the app or takes any action related to how notifications should behave. It's not the best solution, but it's working reliably for me. 😉

You can use date-matching notifications and set them to repeat, taking just 1 slot for a "forever" notification. However, this is limited as you cannot set it to trigger every other day, for example. The biggest problem for me was that you can't delay the first notification scheduled that way.

I’m back home, back to my MacBook! ☺️ However… I don’t want to spend the last few hours of the weekend at my desk, so today I’ll stick to the iPad for a bit longer and try to learn a few tricks working on an icon in Affinity Designer from my couch. 😅

Regarding working on iPad, today I spent most of the time with family, so I barely had time to do something, but I used a few moments of spare time to sketch the UI for my mysterious new project. 😆

I’m amazed by the iPad becoming a computer with the latest iPadOS. If it weren’t for #iOSDev, I could totally ditch the MacBook and live just with it. I’m truly shocked, especially since all that happened over just one update. 🤯

It’s definitely far from being ready (even just to show it here 😅), but more or less it resembles what I had in mind. 😁

OK, so the 2 apps I’d like to use the most right now are macOS only. 🙈 In that case, instead of working on screenshots, I opened Affinity Designer and worked on an icon for a new app. 😊

I just realized that Astro works only on macOS… 🥲 Well, I’ll work on list of possible keywords to test once I’m back home then. 😅

Maybe marketing isn’t the best word. I plan to work on screenshots a bit, try to find some better keywords etc.

I tried to set up a remote connection to the MacBook as well, but I got that idea too late, so no Xcode for the next 3 days it is. 😆

I’m going to experiment a bit this weekend. I went to my hometown today, and I took just my iPad. I plan to work mostly on marketing and read some documentation, so the iPad is more than enough. 😅

I haven’t tried to use them from widgets yet, so maybe framework will be a problem there, or maybe from Shortcuts, Spotlight, or Siri… Nonetheless, I need to read a bit more. 😁 That’s for tomorrow, now it’s time to wind down. 🥱

I created my first app intent today! 🥳 I struggled for a bit with how to use it from the app code, but managed after all. 😅 Now I just need to understand if I need App intent extension or if I can just put them into a shared framework and use them like that. 🤔

I guess I’ll spend a day or two tinkering in some playground, but I hope to start working on the app real soon.
That doesn’t mean I won’t work on Spark anymore. After all, I’ve just created a roadmap with a bunch of new features. It’s just that I need a bit of time off from it. 😜

I also put what I learned working on Spark and I’m reading how I should create a new project, so that I can have working intents, widgets, and a Watch app from the beginning. 😁

I was supposed to work on screenshots and #ASO today, but instead I remembered an idea for an app I had a long time ago and… I already have a name (maybe even final 😱) and did some keyword research. 😅

On the other hand, ratings and reviews from nonpaying users are what will help me the most to attract more users, so I need to tread carefully, I guess. 😅

I think it’s a good compromise. 😅 However, I don’t know what about asking for a review. Even though I’ll be throwing the paywall into the user’s face “only” every other day, I might still get negative reviews only for that reason. 🫤

I didn’t finish, but I created a foundation to finish everything tomorrow. ☺️ I decided to show the paywall every 5 completions, together with a 3-habit limit. This means that in the worst-case scenario, the user will see the paywall every other day. 😅

Corporate part of my soul must've won this time. 😆

I tried many system and apps, Obsidian, Goodnotes etc. But I found that simple Apple Notes are sufficient for me. 😅

I also want to ask more often for a review. Again, I’m not a fan of such a solution, but right now I ask for a review only once, after the user opens the app for the 5th time and I’d really like to have more ratings and reviews. 😅

Tomorrow evening I should have some time to start implementing a mechanism to show the paywall more often… I’m not proud of it, but I just need to show it to the user more than just once during onboarding. 😬
