I mean... I get it... flush door handles are more aerodynamic. But just engineer a mechanical version that can still unlatch aa door if the car has no power... I fully understand China wantinig to ban these door latches.

Side interest of mine is fixing motor vehicles. And watching youtube where people try and fix modern cars. It just amazes me how complicated they are to get to even run... Granted, electronics make the consumption more efficient, but electronic door handles? just idiotic!
