I'll try again sooner or later, i just love the knit look so much more than crochet, especially on clothes
in the meantime, I'll stick to expanding my knowledge with tunisian crochet and with amigurumis

like, i understand knitting on a theorical level but I can't control my tension like i do with crochet, my stitches end up so tight I can't even insert the needle, let alone pull it out and not drop the stitch

thank you! yeah i agree with you, i like the interpretation of intentionally leaving a few mistakes in a project to allow the evil spirits to escape
I'm hyped about this project because while I'm pretty good at normal crochet i can't knit for the life of me and tunisian crochet allows me to fake it

so far it's coming along nicely, i made a small mistake on like the 5th row that's gonna bug me forever but i don't think it's noticeable so I'll just keep it in
it's curling like hell but that's the knit stitch for you, I'll block it in the end anyway so I'm not bothered

not yet, I'm only halfway through the first color stripe (I'm doing 24 or 12 rows per stripe depending on the color) but i will update when I'm further along!

personally i find that reaching the end result is satisfying, but the most important part is having fun in the process

current wip 🧶: a tunisian crochet scarf for my mother, using the fake knit stitch, with different stripes of yarn i have left from other projects (white, grey, and two kinds of blues)

that's gonna be so pretty
i think my next project is going to be a scarf but i need to look into how color changing works with tunisian crochet, i don't have enough yarn to make it a solid color and i wonder whether to do stripes or something a little more complex

yeah coasters sound fun! not only they're extremely functional but they're also easy to make while adding a new challenge (learning how to make circles)

that's nice! be careful not to use any yarn that can easily catch fire like wool
and you can always size down your hook to get a thicker result

i honestly wouldn't change a thing, that project taught me so much, and probably it only behaved that way because the yarn was SO OLD
newer cotton behaves so much better lol
are you a new crocheter?

my first ever project was made with an old cotton skein that belonged to my mother, it was so hard to work with that it gave me a callus, but I've never had a problem with tension after

what do you mean "crochet with a bigger hook when doing tunisian because it's gonna curl and you'll need to block it" if you're blocking it after anyway
at that point just crochet with the hook you like the most
