Judge hears challenge over Portland ballot petition that would divert climate funds to hire police officers
The proposed ballot initiative would move 25% of PCEF revenue, roughly $50 million, to Portland police β tying environmental and public safety funding together.
Great time in the studio with @damonmotzstorey.bsky.social discussing the most recent legal battles around PCEF. Itβll be a little while before the episode comes out - but everyone should get up to speed in the meantime.

A public power project could squarely advance PCEFβs climate goals and deliver something people feel in their monthly budgets. Energy costs are a majorβand growingβdriver of the cost-of-living crisis.
