We have so many opportunities for kindness, for gratitude, and to maybe spread a little bit of love during what can be a difficult season. I pray we notice more and are entitled less. If you're a service industry worker, please know I admire you. Your job is hard. I appreciate you.

I gave her a quick hug and told her that service industry folks matter. It isn't her fault if no one helps her. We left her an enormous tip. She was really moved and told me no one had ever been so kind. That made me sad. We should notice the overworked. We should appreciate them.

I got up to go to the restroom after the meal, and she was there. She looked startled and was like "I'm sorry, I'm just standing in here," and I told her how wonderful I thought she was, and admired how hard she was working. I told her how much I appreciated her. She actually teared up...

I really love this Greek place near the lakefront in Mandeville. It's family owned and reliably good. My quirks and tisms calm down a bit there. Well, the waitress was beyond stressed, and y'all she was hustling. She had no help. She was still pleasant and friendly even though obviously exhausted.

It isn't my birthday yet, but my husband is terrible at keeping things from me, so he gave me two gifts early. I'm a biblical studies and language nerd so I was giddy to receive these two enormous books. My original Interlinear from undergrad was damaged in a storm, so I'm ultra grateful. 🫶🏻💙

Well, if you ever want any pointers, I've been studying it as a way to assist my lupus and Endo symptoms for about 15 years. I completely changed how I ate and approached food. Fermentation and fiber alongside exercise are my besties. I make tons of kimchis too, unsurprisingly.

I don't consume dairy at all, but I adore fermented foods and have made my own coconut kefir in the past. It's lovely! I'm basically a gut biome evangelist. 🙃

A 7 month old long haired brown and red dachshund met Santa this morning. She was very well behaved.

My canine sister in law, Winnie, met Santa this morning and she was actually pretty stoked about it.

I'm so proud of him! He's a school admin and teacher and coach that's always busy. He wanted to challenge himself, and I helped him fall in love with yoga and the rowing machine. Exercise is one of my favorite things, and I'm glad he loves it now too.

My husband made a promise to himself to workout at least 100 days this year aside from his normal walking and stretching at home. Well, he just got home from his 24 hour gym and completed his 100th. I am so proud.

She is. If you look at the classic like sitcom mom that's super lovey dovey and crafty, that's absolutely her. She's more of a mom to me than a mother in law.

They do serve an unbelievable house white balsamic vinegar syrup thing upon request for dipping and topping, and it's addictive.

Y'all, my mother in law is so excited that we are going out for my early birthday (it's next week, I'll be out of town) dinner tomorrow to the "restaurant where they speak Greek and serve that vinegar." It takes so little to make her happy. She's texted me like four times about her outfit.

Things are rough right now, but we just got our child in need list for this Christmas season, and there's a 9 year old named Anthony that is crazy about wrestling and John Cena. My husband, Anthony, is so excited about "from one Anthony to another" shopping, and his joy is contagious. 🥹💚

I always try to explain to people that LWF is one of the weirdest organizations in our state and serves as a kind of slush fund for the governor (who is currently one of the most corrupt we've ever had). I mean, it was most recently headed by Madison Sheahan, currently the dep. director of ICE.

You shouldn't be having this conversation. They're cruel, hateful, evil bullies harming some of the most vulnerable among us. Lots of us are working to protect as many of our community members as we can. I know I'll put all (almost) five feet of me in someone's face (again) if I need to.

I'm so sorry. It makes me so sick. I just did community awareness, resource and reassurance meeting with several of the Korean American families I've assisted in this area, and just...my God I'm so angry.

She popped off on our esteemed Govnuh Landry as well. She hates him because of the LSU football situation, apparently? I have no idea, but whatever, I'll take it. It was an interesting visit. I also taught her not to say "illegals" because Jesus. That actually resonated.

The odd things that make Trump/conservative voters change their minds will always fascinate me. I have a 68 year old (former) MAGA neighbor that no longer trusts that Trump is up for the job because he "isn't dying his hair anymore." She also passionately hates Vance and Rubio.

It was ironically my handyman, an older white cajun man that I adore, that asked me if I thought they'd "really come down here and bother us and if they do, what can we do?" last time he was out here. He'll be back later, and I'm sure we'll talk further.
