Disability turns you into something different entirely. If I push, I pay dearly. Needing to do things & being helpless to do them feels horrible

It took me years to admit to myself (and others) that I was disabled. My disabilities are invisible & I used a tremendous amount of energy keeping them hidden

Ableism is powerful, and internalized ableism is a difficult thing to wrestle with

Therapy is NOT encouraging folks to “reframe negative feelings into positive feelings”.

1. Feelings don’t need to be qualified as good/bad.

2. Reframes only get you so far when the world is on fire. You’re NOT helping anybody therapeutically by “seeing the bright side”.

absolutely worried for my entire caseload who are all Medicaid clients. None of whom would benefit from a gap in treatment.

I’ve had to take a break from social media because I keep getting filled with despair and a sense of impending doom about the USA and I don’t know what to do about. Continuing to speak out and show love and kindness, but damn this is rough.

I’m still re reading Iron flame with my partner(super cute connection time tbh) but Onyx Storm is staring me down from the bookshelf (of course I ordered it early!) I’m so grateful no one has posted spoilers!

If you're ever mad that a young and "healthy-looking" person is using a medical device or mobility aid like a cane or wheelchair.. you need to reevaluate your life.

People have disabilities young.
It's not always visible.
People have flare ups that allow for less mobility and need them.
