I read every horse & dog book in my small town library. I was highly pet-allergic, so adopted creatures created by Marguerite Henry, read The Black Stallion, and was so touched by Albert Payson Terhune's collie books, when I out-grew asthma ##kidlitchat

Advice I'd give my younger self:
Celebrate every success, no matter how small. Don't be so obsessed with the Next Goal that you forgot to appreciate how far you've come so far, and to enjoy the journey.
