Our very own DC3-Caroline Jachmann participated and chaired metaproteomics session during the conference, whereas DC10-Mansi Jain presented interesting poster highlighting the sample preparation strategies 🔬👩‍🔬. Well done and congratulations to both 🌟📚.

This time for our DC2, Josephine Boel Andersen, who attended the workshop on Cyanobacteria in Tennessee, 🇺🇸 (June 4 -7) with a poster 🌟. This workshop is a major gathering of the cyanobacterial research community, and we are happy to see Josie contributing to it with her exciting findings!🔬📚

Secondment highlight of our very own DC2, Josephine Boel Andersen. She completed her 1 months training within the framework of the project, learning and experimenting thermal proteome profiling at LSMBO, Strasbourg, France 🌟📚

Our Vienna-based DCs, María José Rímon Martínez and Ana Carvalho, went on an internal retreat organised by the PhD school of @univie.ac.at, and each brought a poster! Always amazing to see some PROHITS science being presented by our wonderful consortium 🔥

DC 10 Mansi Jain recently attended the Hungarian Molecular Life Science Conference 2025 and brought a poster along to demonstrate her current work with prokaryote sample preparation for MS proteomics!

PROBE

Our DC4 is part of the PROBE lab at University of Bergen, led by Professor Harald Barsnes. They analyse various proteomics samples and develop tool for the analysis. For more information: www.uib.no/en/rg/probe

CompOmics – Computational Omics and Systems Biology Group The CompOmics research group (VIB - Ghent University) specializes in the management, analysis and integration of high-throughput Omics data.

This week we take a look at DC3's group, CompOmics (@compomics) at the University of Gent. This group is led by Prof. Dr. Lennart Martens and specialises in integrating high-throughput 'omics in life science: www.compomics.com

MICR at VUB is the team behind our DC2, led by Eveline Peeters. They have a speciality in microbiology, hereunder a variety of thermophiles that are of interest to PROHITS - check them out here: micr.research.vub.be

In an MSCA research consortium the major focus lies on the connections between the Doctoral Candidates (DCs), but one should not to forget the research teams that hosts and trains each DC!

After a successful kick-off meeting followed by a 4-day long workshop at CNRS in Strasbourg, PROHITS has finally set its sails towards exploring the proteomes of prokaryotic thermophiles. The workshop for the 10 DCs included a tour of the LSMBO MassSpec Lab, from where the below photo was taken 🔥🔬🖥️
