3) Itβs dangerous to go alone
Itβs not surprising that the people that managed to complete the challenge were the same ones hanging around the Discord, chatting to each other every day. By creating community, they gave themselves a reason to come back and engage.
2) The best response to a bad day is to have a good day
Everyone is going to have bad days. The best response to having had one day is to make sure that we have a good day the day after. Getting us back on track.
1) Most people arenβt writing every day.
A lot of creatives end up feeling guilty if they canβt squeeze out a solid section of writing every day. Stop that. The golden rule is to know that you have good and bad days and you must accept them both.

24.11.2025 17:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sneak peek from "Too See amongst the Star" by John Hedge The planet is a barren wasteland. Seemingly endless ruins levelled to nothing and everything covered by an endless black mist. That is, everything except one small green dot near the equator, which holds back the endless darkness. It is towards this green dot that the small crew of the SS Odysseus find themselves hurtling as their ship comes in for an emergency landing. Below that is a drawing of an older man. The cover for Quintessential curios is in the bottom right corner
I wrote it up, called it To See Amongst the Stars and it's been published in the first ever @watchwellgames.com Zine.
The Quintessential Curios
So hey, back in February I did an improvised horror scenario over on @symphonyhorror.bsky.social's Twitch channel.
It was a resounding success and we were all freaked out.

@miskatonicplayhouse.com is worth checking for actual plays of community written content for Call of Cthulhu - a large variety of scenarios that haven't been played elsewhere.
@lightlessbeacons.bsky.social does great long-form scenarios with high production quality.

13.11.2025 18:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I honestly thought the bit in the middle where @tanewman.bsky.social screamed βDave Kirby sucks ass, how did this get an Ennie, Iβve written better scenarios in my sleepβ was a bit rude.

Day 8: Now that's what I call a successful day. Somewhere around 2500 words added and the 2nd scenario wrapped. I'll review it later. For now, we can move on to the 3rd scenario. 8.5/10
08.11.2025 18:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Day 7:
Didn't want to write. Wrote anyway. Two short sessions netted me 800 words as I continue to chip away at this final section. 5/10
Iβm just here waiting for the snow to fall so Sweden can feel normal again.
07.11.2025 10:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Day 3 of my small Swedish town being blanketed by a fog that would make a mid-2000s horror game proud.
07.11.2025 08:38 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Day 6:
A reasonably productive day. Around 1000 words as well as some solid study time of Cthulhu magic 6/10
Also, my house has been thoroughly cleaned due to procrastination.
Day 5: No progress at all on the main draft due to life getting in the way. Awarded myself one bonus points for making progress on another project 1/10
06.11.2025 16:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Day 4: A solid morning session, added over 1000 words to the draft and located a new book for research. 6/10
06.11.2025 16:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Day 3 report:
The difficult section finally got a bit of a flow going. Around 1200 words committed to paper and a new research book chosen. 7/10
Day 2 report:
Successfully bashing out segments that just refused to be written in the first pass. Rapidly approaching the difficult section that doesnβt seem to want to get written at all. Have noted some areas that need another pass. 7/10
Day 1 report:
~600 new words + project plan now entirely on Scrivener.
Giving myself a 6/10 and keeping open the possibility of getting a bit of light editing done this eve.
